Summary

MacKayla Lane faces the ultimate threat when war breaks out between the kingdoms of shadow and light, as the #1 New York Times bestselling Fever series races to an explosive revelation。

From the moment MacKayla Lane arrived in Dublin to hunt her sister’s murderer, she’s had to fight one dangerous battle after the next: to survive, to secure power, to keep her city safe, to protect the people she loves。

The matter of who’s good and who’s evil can be decided by the answer to a single question: Whose side are you on?

Now, as High Queen of the Fae, Mac faces her greatest challenge yet: ruling the very race she was born to hunt and kill—a race that wants her dead yesterday, so they can put a pure-blooded Fae queen on the throne。

But challenges with her subjects are the least of her concerns when an ancient, deadly foe resurfaces, changing not only the rules of the game but the very game itself, initiating a catastrophic sequence of events that have devastating consequences and leave Mac questioning everything she’s ever learned and everyone she’s ever loved。 Now begins an epic battle between Mortal and Fae, Seelie and Unseelie, would-be kings and would-be queens, with possession of the Unseelie King’s virtually unlimited power and the fate of humanity at stake。

From the exquisite, deadly gardens of the High Queen’s court, to long-forgotten truths found in the Sacred Grove of Creation, from the erotic bed of her enigmatic, powerful lover to the darkest, seductive reaches of the Unseelie kingdom, Mac’s final journey takes her places no human has been before, and only one human could possibly survive 。 。 。

Sad that the series is ending but got several good laughs about Christian in this one。 It felt like everything was tied up too quickly -- I really wanted to savor it a bit more。 Over 500 pages and the ending was still too fast。

The Fever series has been a favorite of mince since I was first introduced to Mac & Jericho! So glad that the final book wrapped up all the story lines, toeing up loose ends and not being super cheesy like so many series endings are。 I love all these characters and hate that there’s no more to the story, but even a good series must come to its final conclusion。

I loved the previous book so much。 Dani and Ryodan finally had their story and it was so good。 I was hoping I’d get the same epic adventure out of this one but I wasn’t feeling it。 I may go back to it later but for now I have to shelve it,

Disappointed that this was the last book in the series, but really it had a satisfactory ending in keeping with the themes。

So sad for this series to end but was over all happy with the outcome。 Team Jericho and Mac for ever!

This was one of my favorite book series but this book was disapointing。 Little tension and the characters seemed very one sided。 I was so excited for this book and the plot was blah。 The steam was blah and I was less then impressed。

I absolutely love the Fever Series。 Fell in love with series from the moment Mac fell through the doors at BB & B and Barrons uttered the words "Ms Lane"。 However, judging this book alone, it was lacklustre and fell flat (in my opinion)。 That's not to say I wasn't engaged and invested to see how the series would end。 This novel seemed to tie lose ends together by throwing in a whole horde of random characters with little development。 It didn't pack the same punch as shadowfever, which I felt the I absolutely love the Fever Series。 Fell in love with series from the moment Mac fell through the doors at BB & B and Barrons uttered the words "Ms Lane"。 However, judging this book alone, it was lacklustre and fell flat (in my opinion)。 That's not to say I wasn't engaged and invested to see how the series would end。 This novel seemed to tie lose ends together by throwing in a whole horde of random characters with little development。 It didn't pack the same punch as shadowfever, which I felt the finale of the series deserved。 The death of a certain character was anticlimactic to say the least and the revelation of the Unseelie King's successor was a disappointment; that character deserved better。 On a whole, it was an OK read but I was left feeling disappointed by the ending to a fantastic series that I felt deserved more。 I will always love this series and will undoubtedly take it for a re-read even though I may not be 100% sold on the ending。 Ultimately, thank you KMM for a phenomenal series。 I'm not sure I'll ever find head strong female characters like Mac and Dani or any others like Barrons, Ryodan and the nine。 I'm sad it's over。 🥺 。。。more

I have no words to start this review, but keeping it brief would be better。 As this series started to grow I never imagined its end。 I guess because so many times it felt like everything was said and done, but then sneaky KMM always came up with a plot twist that I did not expect and again I was hooked。 But now that I know this was the end I have nothing else to say that it was perfect。 This isn't the closure that you need after reading so many books in a series, this is how the ending of a seri I have no words to start this review, but keeping it brief would be better。 As this series started to grow I never imagined its end。 I guess because so many times it felt like everything was said and done, but then sneaky KMM always came up with a plot twist that I did not expect and again I was hooked。 But now that I know this was the end I have nothing else to say that it was perfect。 This isn't the closure that you need after reading so many books in a series, this is how the ending of a series has to be like。 Every part, every phrase, every word of wisdom gathered in here were just the perfect bow that finished the precious gift that is the Fever Series。 Now, every time that I feel nostalgic I can just go back and re-read over and over the trials that these characters went through and never forget that life isn't perfect, we must overcome the bumps and be the best versions of ourselves, be true to ourselves。 Seriously, this is the best fucking ending to a series that I have ever read。 Thank you KMM! I'm in a book comaThis has been such a crazy ride。 I had to reread the entire series before reading this one and I don't ever want it to end。 Jericho Barrons is my second forever book man。 His devotion to his bipolar Mac is envying。 But I loved each characters adventure。 And I still want more。 Maybe Rae's book。 Or Lyricka。 Amazing read as always。 I'm in a book comaThis has been such a crazy ride。 I had to reread the entire series before reading this one and I don't ever want it to end。 Jericho Barrons is my second forever book man。 His devotion to his bipolar Mac is envying。 But I loved each characters adventure。 And I still want more。 Maybe Rae's book。 Or Lyricka。 Amazing read as always。 。。。more

Wow, I can't believe that I finished this series AND also that the last book came out only months ago。 Sometimes I have very good timing when it comes to picking up series。Anyway, this is probably a low four and I think I might've liked it less if it was one I'd waited years for 。 。 。 but as is, it generally worked for me。(view spoiler)[I didn't need the Winter princess POV (I ended up liking Lyryka, but as a general rule, don't introduce brand new characters in the very last book!) and I don't Wow, I can't believe that I finished this series AND also that the last book came out only months ago。 Sometimes I have very good timing when it comes to picking up series。Anyway, this is probably a low four and I think I might've liked it less if it was one I'd waited years for 。 。 。 but as is, it generally worked for me。(view spoiler)[I didn't need the Winter princess POV (I ended up liking Lyryka, but as a general rule, don't introduce brand new characters in the very last book!) and I don't understand why Dani and Ryodan didn't get an epilogue。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

Love how the series got wrapped up。 I’m feeling lost without the world of Mac, Barrons, Dani, and Ryodan in my life。 It’s not often I want to just start a series from the beginning right after reading it, but this is how I feel。 I want to dive back in and read it again。

Not the best in the series but its probably because we have already experienced the climax of Mac and Barrons and so its not really that exciting。 I so love the entire world that KMM has built and this series is forever one of my faves。 I loved returning to this world but I think ive probably moved on from it all now。 I agree with what the others have said in relation to more from Dani and Ryodan but it wasn't to be。You should still read it though。 It was good。 Not the best in the series but its probably because we have already experienced the climax of Mac and Barrons and so its not really that exciting。 I so love the entire world that KMM has built and this series is forever one of my faves。 I loved returning to this world but I think ive probably moved on from it all now。 I agree with what the others have said in relation to more from Dani and Ryodan but it wasn't to be。You should still read it though。 It was good。 。。。more

I did not finish this book。 I read 7 chapters, but the book was from the library and over 500 pages。 So we decided to get an Audible version。 My husband and I could not handle the reader’s very false southern accent for Mac。 Nor the male reader’s voice for Barrons。 Karen Moning, what were you thinking? I returned it to Audible。 This was a car book for my husband and I。 We’ve read the entire series this way by me reading the books aloud while husband drives。 I realized, by reading aloud, how much I did not finish this book。 I read 7 chapters, but the book was from the library and over 500 pages。 So we decided to get an Audible version。 My husband and I could not handle the reader’s very false southern accent for Mac。 Nor the male reader’s voice for Barrons。 Karen Moning, what were you thinking? This book takes a long time to develop and was hard to know the direction of the story。 Having said that, hugely commend the author for completing another book in MacKayla Lane's world after her very difficult time struggling with carbon monoxide exposure。 It really took until about page 300 for me to see a tale developing that was reminiscent of connections with the original storyline。 Initially, the beginnings felt very forced and disconnected。 However, after about 3/4 of the way through, I co This book takes a long time to develop and was hard to know the direction of the story。 Having said that, hugely commend the author for completing another book in MacKayla Lane's world after her very difficult time struggling with carbon monoxide exposure。 It really took until about page 300 for me to see a tale developing that was reminiscent of connections with the original storyline。 Initially, the beginnings felt very forced and disconnected。 However, after about 3/4 of the way through, I could see glimpses of the author peeking through and connecting with the original series。 I truly hope the author continues her storytelling with future books。 She's still got it and perhaps this book can be the bridge to more great storytelling ahead。 。。。more

I am so torn over this book。 The fever series is my all time favorite。 This was a bit of a struggle。 The first few chapters are all over the place and such babble that I put it down。 Luckily I gave it another go and it did pick up。 We get a good bit of Christian, some of Dani and some Mac。 To me, there isn’t enough of Mac and Barrons and much of their story wraps up almost too quickly and neatly。 I expected a bit more drama。 There were definitely parts of the story, that I loved and wanted more I am so torn over this book。 The fever series is my all time favorite。 This was a bit of a struggle。 The first few chapters are all over the place and such babble that I put it down。 Luckily I gave it another go and it did pick up。 We get a good bit of Christian, some of Dani and some Mac。 To me, there isn’t enough of Mac and Barrons and much of their story wraps up almost too quickly and neatly。 I expected a bit more drama。 There were definitely parts of the story, that I loved and wanted more (especially one particular new character and Christian)。 I hope they get a story of their own because there is a story to be told。 There were parts that bounced around in an alternate universe per se that we’re a bit confusing。 Much was explained at the end。 It didn’t feel like the Fever series I loved。 It was terrible and some parts were enjoyable but it wasn’t great either or epic for a final book。 。。。more
